Lincoln Electric AC/DC 2. Stick Welder- K1. Rated 4. 7 out of 5 by 4. Rated 5. 0 out of 5. Buzz. Box Great Welder!
I love my Lincoln Electric AC/DC 2. It's a great versatile machine, reliable as all get out and gets the job done right. With Lincoln electrodes, there's not much you can't do without this welder. I'm so loyal to this machine that I didn't bother upgrading to an Idealarc 2. I was so satisfied with my AC/DC 2.
Everything the other reviewers said is absolutely true. The bottom line is that this is a machine that always gets the job done and never lets you down. It's worth every penny.
Given that Lincoln Electric machines are so well built, it's not uncommon to see 3. AC/DC 2. 25/1. 25's still working perfectly. Definite 5 stars! Rated 5. 0 out of 5. Jeff Years of reliable service. I borrowed one years ago and when the owner needed it back I was so addicted to it I had to buy my own.
This was about 1. I use it several times per week. It has always performed flawlessly. The only flaws are no wheels, either buy the kit or add your own. I made a small cart for mine. And the fact that the ground cable is short.
That is also easily rectified. I made a 5. 0 foot extension cord for the power so I could wheel it anywhere in the shop with ease. Most of the time I weld 1/8" to 2" thick steel, always in DC mode. I've welded aluminum & cast iron with it several times with great results.
I'm sure I could also weld stainless but have never needed to. I've even taught many beginners to weld with this machine and it handles abuse with ease. Can't go wrong with this one. Rated 5. 0 out of 5. John Just what the Dr.
It got the job done without any problems. Sturdy and reliable. December 2. 9, 2. Rated 5. 0 out of 5. Doingitbymyself Excellent Price. I read the reviews before purchase and was a little hesitant but finally purchased. This is a great buy probably saved 3.
I contacted HD and they informed me it was a new welder not refurbished and it did have a small dent or 2 in cowling but a dead blow hammer straightened right into place. Don't know why they had such a great price I am sure there is a story behind it but for a welder that will sit in a shop you can't go wrong. Came quickly delivered to house excellent contact with HD personnel. Plus I received 1. If you know your welding you will know this is a great buy. December 2. 5, 2.
Rated 5. 0 out of 5. Robb Great welder and price. I ordered this welder Wed. Friday afternoon.
Very fast shipping and arrived in perfect condition with zero dents or damage. Everyone at Home Depot was very helpful. November 3. 0, 2. Rated 5. 0 out of 5. Arc. Weldor Awesome "work horse" welder. This is a basic work horse welder. The DC mode option is great and this machine can dish out the spark all day long.
I have high dollar welders in the shop, but I needed a basic no frills stick buzzbox, with none of the "gingerbread" found on other expensive welders. There's no need to have a stick welder with all of the bells and whistles on board if your a home hobbiest, farmer, rancher, metal artist, plumber, carpenter, handyman, welding student at a tech school or even a professional for home use. Unless your into production welding or ship building, this welder will fit your needs. For thin stuff less than 1/8" thick however, this and pretty much all stick welders is NOT for you. Stick is not intended for thin sheet metal under 1/8". Even then, use 3/3. DC- for the thinnest stuff.
Some say that the "tapped" amperage control is not as good or "fine" as a continuous setting like the Miller Thunderbolt or Hobart Stickmate. Well, so what. The difference in amperage adjustment is negligible. I doubt two welders side by side could tell the difference apart of each's weld beads when comparing their machine to a Lincoln AC/DC- 2. One I'll say is that stick welding does have a BIG learning curve to get descent (slag inclusion free) welds. Practice practice practice and watch online videos on proper technique and electrodes to use. Also, make sure you have a 5. It requires a NEMA 6- 5.
R type receptacle that your electrician will know how to install. Try to avoid the "3. Amp" "dryer" outlets.
Sure it will work, but not at 2/3rds or full power when needed. Home Depot has a pretty good price on these Lincolns. Buy one, you won't be sorry (if you practice a lot)!
November 1. 4, 2. Rated 5. 0 out of 5. Cobra By design, the DC side has finer amperage control.
I am a retired Boilermaker pressure- parts welder. When I retired; I had 2. I love this machine! You can weld a great number of different welding rods. L on Ac & 7. 01.
Dc reverse are two of my favorites. October 1. 1, 2. 01. Rated 5. 0 out of 5. Alan It's a Lincoln what can I say.
I have been welding for 3. If your looking for a arc (stick) welder, look no further. This machine can weld up to 5/1. Low Hydrogen) and up to 3/1.
Mild Steel. You can even carbon arc (back gouge) with 1/4 inch carbon rod. If you have an air supply that is. Yes, there is bigger (amps). But if your not building a ship. This is the machine for stick welding!!!!
